ABSTRACT

Novel coronaviruses (CoVs) are zoonotic pathogens, but the first human-to-human transmission has been reported. CoVs have the best known genome of all RNA viruses, and mutations in the genome have now been found. A pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China, was first reported to the WHO Country Office in China on 31 December 2019. This study aims to report early findings related to COVID-19 and provide methods to prevent and treat it.

ABSTRACT

As a result of the explosive growth of scientific knowledge and the rapid development of ICT, the world economy is undergoing crucial global changes, which are the most significant since the industrial revolution. Digitization represents the most important element of the fourth industrial revolution, enabling the connection of technology and people. The digital economy is related to the rapid onset and penetration of information and communication technologies into all areas of human activity, which also requires new perspectives on the factors affecting the development and success of the economy. We digitize information and data, digitize the processes and systems that make up the functioning of the company, and digitally transform the company and its strategy. The main task of article is to determine the digital economy in the context of digital transformation and their impact on the electronification of accounting processes in the Slovak Republic. The article defines the progress and level of development of Europe's digital competitiveness in individual EU member states using the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). The position of Slovakia and the EU is compared for the period from 2018 to 2022. Slovakia needs to create conditions for the gradual digital transformation of all sectors of the economy. Digitization is also coming to the accounting. The article also describes how the approved amendment to the Act on Accounting as of January 1, 2022 creates space for streamlining the processing and archiving of accounting records. The current change in the amendment to the Act on Accounting thus offers completely new opportunities for working with corporate accounting in relation to internal processes in the company, but also in relation to financial administration or tax authorities. All entities, this also applies to agricultural entities keeping the double entry accounting, are obliged to follow the Act No. 431/2002 Coll. on Accounting as amended.

ABSTRACT

IntroductionThe outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic generated the need to adapt patients' access to health services, given the rapid and exponential increase in demand at all levels of care, making social distancing one of the few weapons available in this fight. In this scenario, telehealth proved to be a fundamental tool in tracking and guiding patients with suspected or confirmed disease. This work presents the demographic profile of the people attended, the most prevalent clinical situations in care and the clinical outcomes of the remote care.MethodsThis was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study carried out at Unimed Belo Horizonte, a medical work cooperative, from March 2020 to May 2021. We analyzed anonymized data on remote care from electronic medical records provided by the operator, with the remote contacts of these patients being spontaneous.ResultsIn the period evaluated, 380,663 remote calls were made, with a monthly average of 36,888 calls. Of these visits, 59.5% were carried out by women and 40.5% by men. There were, 13,211 (3.5%) consultations with patients aged 0 to 9 years, 19,933 (5.2%) 10 to 19 years, 319,882 (84%) in people aged 20 to 59 years, and 27,633 (7.3%) aged 60 years or older. There were 64,348 (17%) consultations in patients with confirmed COVID-19 and 40,997 (11%) with suspected COVID-19. There were 194,746 (51.2%) consultations due to respiratory complaints and 14% of consultations due to other causes, but whose initial care was due to signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID-19. Of people assisted remotely, 29,734 (7.8%) attended the emergency room within 3 days, while 38,685 (10.2%) sought the emergency room within 14 days. There were 2,846 (0.7%) consultations in the emergency room that resulted in the hospitalization of patients.ConclusionsTelehealth proved to be resolute and an important tool for accessing health services during the pandemic.

ABSTRACT

There continues to be slight growth in the high school population nationwide, thus creating more competition than ever for new student enrollment (de Brey, et al. 2021). Besides stiffer competition, the overall value proposition of a college education, once clearly outlined and easily identified by society, continues to diminish (Orem 2021). New Strategy: Co-Branded Marketing The admissions team at HACC's Gettysburg Campus collaborated on a pilot program with Adams County school districts to reach their target audience of high school students and their families to promote HACC's Dual Enrollment Parent Night in November 2018. In the fall of 2021, MCCC's unduplicated total dual enrollment headcount (year over year) was up 8.44 percent, mostly due to the success of this initiative. [...]considering that dual enrollment also contributes to new student enrollment, this initiative helped mitigate the potential losses impacting new student enrollment. [...]Mccc is now in the process of capturing "invisible leads" from parents/caretakers who desire to learn more about the program and its benefits.

ABSTRACT

Drawing on extensive data of social media active users (N=1861) and covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM), the novel findings revealed that parasocial relationships and social media influencers' credibility positively trigger intentions to use the Metaverse digital marketplace. [...]a higher tendency of openness to Metaverse experience intensifies the effect of parasocial relationships on the intentions to use the Metaverse digital marketplace. According to the company, Roblox has around 50 million games, with a monthly use duration of 3 billion hours. The outcomes of this work provide significant advances in theoretical understanding. Because of this, it goes on to use the notion of PSR to explain that there is research on media psychology and the attractiveness of influencers among followers, laying the theoretical groundwork for future studies on the effect of influencers. With this understanding, Metaverse technology may better satisfy the needs of its customers and allow them to connect with the technology more naturally. Because of the new level of engagement, people who use social media can build strong relationships with those who follow them.

ABSTRACT

Quality of care continues to be of serious concern in the United States. Part of addressing this concern must include academic programs that produce students with an appreciation of quality management to take up positions in healthcare organizations. Moreover, healthcare organizations must ensure that quality and safety are front of mind for those they employ, especially those in management. This study presents an evaluation of student perception of their readiness to work as part of quality management teams and undertake quality management activities. Majority of the students surveyed agreed that they felt well prepared to participate on a healthcare quality management (QM) team, felt confident in their ability to participate in QM activities, and were extremely confident in their QM skills. Additionally, majority of the respondent indicated that "everyone" was responsible for ensuring quality in the healthcare organization. Healthcare organizations must invest in the professional development of their employees especially in quality management. This may prove to be beneficial to their patients and bottom line.
